The Community of Madrid delivered 134 new homes on Tuesday as part of the Plan Vive in Alcorcón, adding to the 822 already allocated in the municipality, one of the most benefitted areas in the region by this affordable rental program.
The new development is located on 21 de marzo street in Alcorcón and consists of 50 one-bedroom units, 54 two-bedroom units, and 30 three-bedroom units, with six of them adapted for people with reduced mobility. They are energy-efficient and include a garage, storage room, concierge service, pool, gym, coworking space, and green areas.
The rent ranges from 531 to 949 euros per month. «It is around 30-40% more affordable than market prices in this area,» highlighted the Minister of Housing, Transport, and Infrastructure, Jorge Rodrigo, who visited the development along with the tenants.

This brings the total number of properties to 3,297 made available by the regional government, with another 4,800 in the construction phase.
The goal is to reach 13,000 households in this legislative period.

Additionally, the Madrid Government will soon put out to tender the 4,500 apartments from the Plan Vive Young Solution, exclusively for individuals under 35. These will be built in Alcobendas, Tres Cantos, San Sebastián de los Reyes, Móstoles, Arroyomolinos, Colmenar Viejo, Valdemoro, Loeches, Torrejón de la Calzada, Torrejón de Velasco, and in Madrid capital.

In his statements to the media, Rodrigo recalled that «the requests for a home through Plan Vive have already surpassed 125,000, proof of the success of this affordable rental program.»
He also noted that «only by increasing supply is it possible to control prices in a market where, as has been proven, interventionism does not work, but rather legal certainty and freedom.»
PLAN VIVE REQUIREMENTS
The conditions to qualify for one of these apartments include being of legal age and having Spanish nationality or legal residency in the country, with priority given to those who have been registered or working in the locality where the property is located for at least three years.
Furthermore, the home must be the primary residence and cannot be owned by another party.
Lastly, it is necessary to meet the income limits established based on the IPREM table and not allocate more than 35% of the annual household income to total rent payment.
