The Local Security Board of Alcorcón has approved the special device that will be implemented during the September Patron Saint Festivities, which will include, for the second year, the distribution of sentinel bracelets to detect chemical submission.

«We want free and safe celebrations for women as well,» said the mayor, Candelaria Testa, who co-chaired the meeting with the Government Delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, where security devices were reviewed and crime rate data for the municipality was discussed.

In addition to the bracelets, the Violet Point will be maintained, installed for the first time in 2019, and instead of removing it like in other municipalities, it will be «strengthened» and available for another year in Alcorcón.

The mayor explained that the city has 213 Municipal Police officers, of which «a total of 111 will be working on average every day during morning, afternoon, and night.»

This is complemented by the reinforcement of National Police officers, drones, and a video surveillance system in the area of the booths at the Fairgrounds, with a direct connection to the advanced command post.

Likewise, Testa explained that the Fairgrounds will once again have a security perimeter – «it will be fully fenced and will also have a video surveillance system,» a pyrotechnic and evacuation plan, and will also provide self-protection training for booth participants and concert organizers.

Furthermore, the mayor highlighted that this year they will have «luxurious heralds»: Municipal Police and Civil Protection, in recognition of their significant 60 and 40-year trajectory in the city, respectively.

Similarly, to mark this anniversary, Alcorcón will have «important surprises and novelties in the traditional exhibition of Security Forces and Bodies» that takes place during the festivities, thanks to the collaboration of the Government Delegation.

On his part, the Government Delegate in Madrid, Francisco Martín, highlighted the positive data obtained in the first semester of 2025, making Alcorcón, along with Fuenlabrada, one of the «safest cities in all of Spain» with more than 100,000 inhabitants.

«During this meeting, it was noted how, in the first semester of 2025, the security situation in Alcorcón continues to improve thanks, undoubtedly, to the work of the Security Forces and Bodies, the coordination with the Municipal Police, but also to the social and economic policies developed by the city council,» he stated.

Martín pointed out data such as a reduction of over 2 percent in criminal offenses, a decrease of half a point below the crime rate of Alcorcón compared to last year.

«We are talking about a city that is 18 points below the average crime rate of the Community of Madrid, therefore, an extraordinarily safe city; however, despite the good data, we continue to work in this direction,» he said.
