Alcorcón solicita a Cibeles permitir llegada de autobuses de la A-5 hasta Príncipe Pío
The Mayor of Alcorcón, Candelaria Testa, has reiterated to her counterpart in Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, to allow intercity buses to reach the Príncipe Pío interchange to minimize the inconveniences caused by the A-5 underground works.
As Testa conveyed to the Madrid mayor in a letter on Wednesday, the residents of the locality «have been suffering from the beginning of the year inconveniences and difficulties in mobility to enter and exit Alcorcón by intercity bus» due to the refusal to continue the service from Cuatro Vientos to Príncipe Pío.
Testa emphasized that on Monday, April 28, due to a general blackout, citizens were forced to walk between Príncipe Pío and Cuatro Vientos (over 8 kilometers) «seriously risking their integrity, as they did not have Metro or Cercanías transportation.»
The Cuatro Vientos interchange: cold, rain, noise, pollution… and in the summer, worse
The Mayor urged Almeida to «abandon his stubbornness in keeping ‘a wall’ in Cuatro Vientos that does not allow us to reach the interchange» and asked him to think «not only of his neighbors, but also of ours.»
The Alcorcón City Council reiterated its «commitment and collaboration with all the parties involved in the works to minimize their impact on the population,» as expressed by the mayor in her letter.
