
Lorena Medina, who works as a waitress at La Taberna II in Alcorcón, has emerged as the winner of the Beer Pouring Championship held at the Salón Gourmets event. Branduse Emanuel Ionut from Mesón Casa Juan in Arganda del Rey secured the second position in the competition.
Medina and Ionut have been crowned as the best beer pourers in Spain in this competition that took place on the first day of the Salón Gourmets fair. Meanwhile, chef Manuel Andrés Pérez from Bediako Batzoki Berria in Vizcaya has been named the Best Gourmet Burger Chef in Spain at the ‘Burger Combat’ event, where he competed against five other finalists from across the country.
Additionally, the first day of the gastronomic fair also featured the ham cutting competition for Dehesa de Extremadura, with Josué Falcón emerging as the winner. Falcón, a ham cutter from the Canary Islands, also received the creativity award.

The 6 finalists, selected from 109 competitors, had an hour and a half to carve a 7-kilogram ham and present dishes with slices from the maza, babilla, and punta, three different parts of a ham that pose various challenges when cutting.
