Raquel Rodríguez, former councilor of Ganar Alcorcón, was expelled from her municipal group and removed from all her government delegations on Monday. She has finally managed to take over the Presidency of the Municipal Services Company (ESMASA) with the support of the opposition parties PP and Vox.
This maneuver comes after the municipal government, formed by PSOE, Ganar Alcorcón, and Más Madrid, fell into the minority following Rodriguez’s expulsion from the Ganar Alcorcón group and the removal of her functions as councilor of Culture, Festivities, and Senior Citizens, after an open confrontation within her party.
Almost simultaneously with the announcement of her removal, Rodriguez publicly announced her decision to leave the Ganar Alcorcón group and join the group of Non-Attached Councilors, from where she intended to continue leading her Council and take on the Presidency of the public company ESMASA.
Although she did lose her delegations of Culture, Festivities, and Senior Citizens, Ganar Alcorcón warned yesterday of «the unilateral call without government support» of a Board of Directors of ESMASA in which Rodriguez wanted to «self-propose as president» of the public company, where she would «need the support of the opposition.»
This call was made just after the announcement by the Mayor, Candelaria Testa, of the General Shareholders’ Meeting of ESMASA, where the late Jesus Santos was to be replaced as a director of the public company to make way for David López, designated by Ganar Alcorcón as the successor.

ANTI-DEFECTION PACT
The municipal party has reported on Tuesday that Raquel Rodríguez, despite being a non-attached councilor after being recently removed from her party and the municipal government, has been elected president of the public company ESMASA with the votes of PP and Vox.
Specifically, Raquel Rodríguez received three votes in favor (hers and those of the representatives of PP and Vox), three against (from the representatives of PSOE and Más Madrid), and the abstention of the worker representatives.
In the face of a tie, Rodriguez took advantage of the casting vote as Vice President of ESMASA and the fact that the new CEO for Ganar Alcorcón had not yet been appointed, which was to take place a few hours later at the General Shareholders’ Meeting of ESMASA, which has been canceled.
«Raquel Rodríguez thus consummates her assault on the municipal company,» regretted Ganar Alcorcón, who had appealed on Monday to the State Anti-Defection Pact that the PP supported nationally to prevent the opposition from electing the expelled councilor as president of the public company.
