
Alcorcón will celebrate from Wednesday, April 23 to Sunday, April 27 the popular festivities of Santo Domingo and San Dominguín with a program of activities for all ages, including children’s games, contests, musical performances, the first local band contest, and a tribute to Rocío Jurado.
The opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday, April 23 at 8:00 p.m. at Plaza de España, by Vicente One More Time, a well-known resident for his roles as an entrepreneur, announcer, composer, and DJ. The event will also feature the mayor, Candelaria Testa, and the councilor of Culture, Festivities, and Seniors, Raquel Rodríguez.

After the opening ceremony, the public can enjoy a fireworks display, a performance by the Municipal Band, and the traditional distribution of lemonade and breadcrumbs at the headquarters of the Brotherhood of Santo Domingo and San Dominguín.
On Thursday, April 24, starting at 5:30 p.m., there will be a parade with the Santa Cecilia Musical Group, accompanied by giants and big heads, parading through the main streets of the center.
At 6:30 p.m., various games and popular contests for all audiences will begin. As a novelty, the ‘Sounds of Alcorcón’ Contest will be held, aimed at local bands of all musical styles.

The winning group will have the opportunity to perform as the opening act at the September festivities. On that day, the distribution of lemonade and breadcrumbs will also be repeated at 7:45 p.m.
On Friday, April 25, activities will kick off at 5:30 p.m. with new children’s contests, followed at 7:30 p.m. by a family show «At Your Service», performed by the Tiritirantes Company. The day will conclude at 9:00 p.m. with a DJ session at Plaza de España.

On Saturday, April 26, at 8:30 p.m., the tribute to Rocío Jurado will take place with the show ‘Something Went Away with You’, starring the singer Pilar Boyero.
The festivities will conclude on Sunday, April 27 with a raffle at 11:00 a.m., organized by the Brotherhood of Santo Domingo and entertained by the Santa Cecilia Musical Group. At 2:00 p.m., a popular stew will be served, and the closing event will be performed by the Dance Factory School at 6:00 p.m.
