Alcorcón da terrenos para construir 224 nuevas viviendas

The Alcorcón City Council has agreed to transfer four plots to the General State Administration so that, through SEPES, 224 homes can be built in the new development of Retamar de la Huerta in Alcorcón, where a total of 3,500 homes will be constructed, with 1,200 of them being public housing.
This announcement was made by Mayor Candelaria Testa in a press conference where she explained that after a meeting at the Ministry of Housing with the state-owned company SEPES, they have moved «from discussions to administrative procedures.»

«Thanks to this, we are formally starting the involvement of the Spanish Government, through SEPES, in the urban development of Retamar de la Huerta,» emphasized Testa, highlighting that this new urban development will kick off in the summer, once the Special Infrastructure Plan is ratified.
The socialist mayor also emphasized that, «in the face of the inaction of the regional government, which has full and exclusive jurisdiction over housing matters, the Spanish Government is acting and promoting local public housing projects like the one in Alcorcón.»

On the other hand, the Councilor for Urban Agenda, Planning, Development, and City Maintenance, Miguel A. González, also mentioned that, now that they have successfully «unblocked» this urban development, they are awaiting a final procedure that will allow them to «start moving earth this summer.»
«We are now just waiting for the final road report to bring the Plenary Session the definitive approval of the infrastructure and organization plans,» added González.
Furthermore, he recalled that the Compensation Board has requested the simultaneity of the interior urbanization project with the construction of the homes in order to begin the construction works of the first homes in the third or fourth quarter of 2026.

These are plots exceeding 1,140,000 m2, located in the northern area, next to the Campodón development, where a neighborhood with «very low residential density» has been designed, as the buildings will have a maximum of four floors, and there will be a 15% of single-family homes.
Retamar de la Huerta will also be a spacious neighborhood, with residential streets averaging 17 meters wide, promoting connectivity throughout the development with 1.8 hectares of areas dedicated to pedestrian paths, bike lanes, and various sports facilities.
In total, there will be 7 kilometers of bike lanes and 5.8 kilometers of pedestrian paths, as well as 14.5 hectares of urban parks, with several green corridors connected to two forest parks that will be regenerated to become forest parks.

These are the river parks of the Madre stream and the Pasidre ravine, already within the limits of Retamar de la Huerta, to which two more linear parks that will cross the new neighborhood will be added, allowing residents to move from one park to another always through green areas.
Regarding the access to Retamar de la Huerta, this project includes improving the southern access with the creation of a new roundabout, accompanied by the undergrounding of the M-506, which will undoubtedly relieve traffic and enhance convenience, as lanes will be widened and new service roads will be created.
